Noah Soto is a Biology student at UCLA. He is a pre-med student in Erbay Lab to gain research experience by investigating how the epigenetic enzyme TET2 in a CHIP-relevant model alters immune cell programming to promote cardiometabolic disease, with a focus on atherosclerosis. His research will focus on the interplay between the oncometabolite 2-Hydroxyglutarate (2-HG) and the enzyme L-2-hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase (L2HGDH) that converts 2-HG into alpha-ketoglutarate Outside of academia, he enjoys playing sports, spending time with family, and watching films. He grew up playing soccer, but recently picked up both running and the gym and has enjoyed both just as much as soccer. On the weekends, he is just a short drive away from home so he heads down there to play in a soccer league with his family! Among his favorite films are The Pursuit of Happyness and Good Will Hunting.
