Jose Luis Rocamora, PhD, is a postdoctoral scholar committed to translating fundamental discoveries in academia into real-world impact. In collaboration with the biotech industry, he is pursuing a translational research project investigating the potential of TET2 as a molecular target for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. His work integrates metabolic and epigenetic regulation of immune cell function to elucidate how inflammation drives atherosclerosis in the contexts of dyslipidemia and aging.

Dr. Rocamora earned a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and completed his PhD in Biomedicine at the University of Barcelona. He conducted his doctoral training at IDIBELL (Barcelona, Spain), where he investigated the role of SMAD and ERK/MAPK signaling in vascular malformations. His expertise in cell signaling and vascular biology contributes to the research mission of the Erbay Lab.

Beyond the bench, Dr. Rocamora cultivates creativity through philosophical discussions, draws inspiration from the sea, broadens his perspective through travel, and finds balance through sport.
