Beyza is the lab manager and a senior research associate in the Erbay lab, where she contributes to ongoing studies on how lipid-induced cellular stress reshapes macrophage function in aging-related diseases such as atherosclerosis. She earned her BS in Human Biology and Society at UCLA, training in the Lusis lab, where she used systems genetics to map gene networks linking iron and lipid metabolism and identify candidate key drivers of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). She then joined Moshe Arditi's lab at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she contributed to our understanding of the role of ER stress and autophagy in vascular inflammation, before completing her MS at Cedars-Sinai on the role of the gut microbiome in cancer therapy efficacy.

Outside the lab, Beyza enjoys cooking, crafting, and exploring LA by bike. She also keeps an extensive playlist for every mood and is always happy to meet a cat.
